Timothy Hui - Director, Ventures and Investment
Timothy specialises in venture capital investments - from deal sourcing, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, portfolio management & valuations, board engagement, and positioning for exit liquidity. For over 3 years, Tim was the Programs & Investment Associate at QUT Creative Enterprise Australia - a private subsidiary of QUT supporting creative ventures grow through capability and capacity building. He was instrumental to the establishment of CEA's flagship Collider Accelerator (an intensive startup development program) from program development to delivery, and completion of all pre-seed investments.
Tim was hands-on and completed transactions through two vehicles and sat on several portfolio boards. Furthermore, he was on the raising team in the establishment of CEA's Fund II (an ESVCLP) including product development, structuring, and AFSL compliance. Upon departure, CEA Startup Fund I sat at a top decile performance return (2014 vintage, PitchBook).
Tim is a graduate from QUT with a Bachelor of Business (Management) and Bachelor of Engineering (Medical). As a result, he approaches every business with a deeply analytical assessment and commercial viability in mind. Timothy continues to engage with academic institutions as a founder coach, facilitator in startup methodologies, and MBA guest lecturer in venture capital.
